Overview
We are excited to report the successful completion of Milestone 3 for the Stylus Build-a-thon, which culminated in a highly engaging 3-day hackathon. Held from October 10 to October 12, 2024, at the Nairobi Game Development Center, the hackathon provided a platform for participants to showcase their knowledge of Arbitrum Stylus through the development of innovative blockchain projects.
The hackathon concluded a series of learning sessions and workshops, giving developers the opportunity to create real-world solutions while leveraging the capabilities of Stylus for enhanced performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Key Activities
- Hackathon Kickoff (Day 1 - October 10):
- Official opening with a keynote speech on the future of Web3 and Arbitrum Stylus.
- Participants finalized their teams, with over 20 teams registered.
- Brainstorming and project planning began immediately after the opening.
- Project Development (Day 2 - October 11):
- Full-day coding sessions with active support from mentors.
- Mentorship Hours: Over 50 hours provided by 8 experts in blockchain development and Arbitrum Stylus.
- Midpoint check-ins ensured teams were on track and provided constructive feedback.
- Final Presentations and Judging (Day 3 - October 12):
- Teams submitted projects by 6 PM and delivered live presentations.
- Each team had 5 minutes to present and demo their project to the judging panel.
- Judges evaluated projects on innovation, technical implementation, impact, user experience, and presentation quality.
